Not a good week for resolutions. Neither gerbil died. No major appliance broke. I didn’t have to go to a doctor. It wasn’t entirely bad but my resolutions stank.
1. Lose 15 pounds. Still failing miserably. I did so terribly that I’m not going to get on the scale today.
2. Run 365 miles. 0.0 miles on the treadmill, and 0.0 on the elliptical machine for a grand total of 13.0 miles for the year.
3. Read 25 works: Three – The Mabinogion, The Drawing of the Dark, and The Three-Body Problem.
4. Read 75 Lovecraftian short stories: 14.
Algernon Blackwood: “The Wendigo,” “The Willows,” “Accessory Before the Fact,” and “Ancient Lights,”
Robert Bloch: “The Tchen-lam’s Vengeance,” “Unheavenly Twin,” “Lilies,” “Black Lotus,” and “Pink Elephants.”
Ramsey Campbell: “The End of a Summer’s Day ” “Potential,” and “At First Sight.”
August Derleth: “Open, Sesame,” “A Knocking in the Wall.”
5. Send out 110 manuscripts: 26.
6. Write 50,000 words and five new stories: 3,139 words of fiction, 934 words of scripts, 1,359 of nonfiction = 5,432 total. No change since last week.
7. Produce 55 artworks. Eight.
8. Two video or animation projects. Zero.
9. Support 12 local artists. Three – Christopher L. Bennett’s Arachne’s Exile, Stephen Leigh’s The Abraxas Marvel Circus, and Bryan Kruse’s The Red Mask of Death.
10. 430 blog posts. This makes 74.
