Finnegan’s Wake : Chapter 11

I just finished chapter 11 of 17, page 331 of 540 of Finnegan’s Wake.

The chapter takes place in a bar with both a television and radio drama playing in the background. Parts hold together but others swirl together like liquids in a drunk’s puke.

Joyce referenced the word “Nazi,” but I can’t find much of an explanation of his intent. Joyce wrote the book from 1923 to 1939. That’s a wide range for an Irish writer with views as wide and diverse as Joyce.

I keep hoping the next chapter to be easier. Maybe this time it will be.
