I had thought that Mommy and Papa gerbil had eaten the runt of their litter. I falsely accused them this time (although after eating the whole litter last time, you can’t blame me for being suspicious).
All four babies are sprouting hair and are squeaking nonstop. I’m surprised their parents don’t eat them to get some quiet.
On a cold-blooded note, last year I was amazed that wall lizards were still active up until October 24. One was zipping about today. I’ll keep looking to see if they set a new record.
