Medicine in the White House

In 1924 Calvin Coolidge,  the 16-year-old son of the president developed a blister on his foot. Today that wouldn’t be much of an issue but before antibiotics it was much more serious.  The blister became infected and without a way to fight the invasive bacteria,  on July 7th, the young man died.

Today, Beau Biden, son of the vice president,  died of brain cancer. I hope in 100 years cancer is as trivial as blisters are today.

Of course, with the misuse of antibiotics,  in 100 years, blisters might become deadly again.
