The Cage

It’s not quite as old as the Beatles’ appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show but Star Trek’s original pilot “The Cage” is three years older than me.

It wasn’t released to the public until 1988 but since I’d seen clips of it in the regular Star Trek episode “The Menagerie,” I never felt compelled to see it.

Devilboy checked it out from the library so I wound up seeing it anyway.

The complete version made more sense but wasn’t as much fun as “The Menagerie.”

Captain Pike was a much better leader than Kirk but not nearly as exciting to watch.
