Anarchy in the Ant Hill

Now that I’m finished with the Book of Psalms, I’ll start picking on the Book of Proverbs. One of the more famous passages from Proverbs (which contains a bulk of non-proverbial writing) is the reference to the ant from Chapter 6:

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
    and gathers its food at harvest.

I never thought about how long it’s been since we’ve known about queen ants and their place in a colony, but apparently that was news to the Bible. So why don’t fundamentalists protest learning about worker, soldier, and queen ants in public schools? Shouldn’t they boycott Pixar for its godless depiction of ants in A Bug’s Life? Do fundamentalists even take the Bible seriously or is it all for show?
